2023: 13 APC councillorship candidates in Enugu North LG back Comrade Chris Agu for Governorship

The 13 All Progressives Congress (APC) Councillorship candidates in the Feb. 23, LG polls from Enugu North Local Government, have endorsed the governorship ambition of Comrade Chris Agu of Radio Nigeria, Enugu National Station.

The leader of the group, Mr. Moses Onwosi, who made the position of the group known during a solidarity visit to Comrade Agu’s residence at Ngwo on Saturday, said they were inspired to back his ambition because of his track record of charity and penchant for the defense of the downtrodden in the society.

Mr. Onwosi said they were confident that if given the chance, Comrade Agu would uplift many out of poverty and hunger.

Responding, Comrade Chris Agu, said he was overwhelmed by the visit, noting that he was shocked that the little he was doing for humanity was being noticed.

“It is an eloquent testimony that they’ve been following my movement, studying my character, and watching me.

“I did not invite them, they informed me they want to come for over two weeks now, I told them after APC national convention then they can now come.

“So they are here, they gave me a letter endorsing me and they also promised to go and fast and pray so that the eyes of the leadership of APC in Enugu State will also see what they observed, by so doing, I will get the ticket to run for the governorship,” he narrated.

Comrade Agu noted that since he got the vision to join the governorship race, he has received several endorsement from different individuals and groups.

“They’re not only the people that have called, today alone, the Ngwo elders, the Ozo and the Ndi Ubelenze also prayed for me and endorsed me.

All the Ozo title holders in Ngwo land, they gathered for my sake and they wished me well.

“Prior to this, the Ngwo clan General Assembly has also called on me and endorsed me to come and rescue Enugu State.” Comrade Agu said.

The APC aspirant noted that he was determined to rescue Enugu State from bad governance, stressing that something urgent had to be done to care for the pensioners.

“I’m determined, I’m courageous and with the support of the good people, the downtrodden, the oppressed people of Enugu State, the pensioners; people have laboured a lot, the teachers, nobody cares to take care of these retirees and they’re dying in large number and people are not even asking questions,” he concluded.

He said his ambition was divine, noting that he was in the race to do things differently.
