NSA Hands Over 100 Rescued St Mary’s Catholic School Pupils To Niger State Gov’t

The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, on Monday handed over 100 rescued pupils of St Mary’s Catholic School to the Niger State Government, weeks after their abduction on November 21.

The pupils were presented to Governor Mohammed Umar Bago at Government House, Minna, by Wing Commander Abdullahi Idi Hong, who represented the NSA.

Ribadu, through his representative, reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to securing every community, saying policies are being strengthened to ensure the safety of all Nigerian children.

Governor Bago described the return of the pupils as a significant moment for Niger State. He thanked President Bola Tinubu, the NSA, security agencies, and other partners for their roles in the rescue operation.

He also urged continued prayers for the remaining pupils and teachers still in captivity, assuring that efforts are ongoing to secure their freedom and reunite them with their families.

After the brief handover ceremony, the pupils were transported to Kontagora for reunification with their parents.
