Udenu Council Launches Official Website To Boost Digital Governance

Udenu Local Government Council in Enugu State has launched its official website, www.udenulga.ng, marking a significant step toward digital governance and improved public engagement.

The platform was designed and developed by students of the Udenu Innovation and Growth Hub (IGHub).

It was unveiled at an event attended by the council chairman, Akachukwu Eze Akachukwu, alongside other senior council officials.

During the launch, the students gave a live demonstration of the website, explaining its key features and functionality.

The platform provides residents and stakeholders with access to information on council services, news updates, ongoing projects and departmental contacts.

It is also designed to be mobile-responsive and easy to navigate, with interactive features aimed at improving accessibility and user experience.

The students said the project reflects the practical skills they acquired through the IGHub programme, including web development, digital content management, teamwork and problem-solving. They noted that the website was built from scratch to meet the specific needs of the local government and its residents.

Council officials announced that the website would be regularly updated with news and multimedia content showcasing developments across Udenu communities, as well as features highlighting everyday life and people in the area.

Beyond governance-related information, the platform also promotes Udenu’s culture, traditions, tourism sites, festivals, businesses and key events, positioning it as a digital guide for both residents and visitors.

Officials described the initiative as part of the council’s broader commitment to transparency, youth empowerment and inclusive governance through the use of technology.
