Police Congratulate ex-DIG Nwobodo On Coronation As Enugu Monarch

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has congratulated a retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Godwin Nwobodo, on his coronation as the traditional ruler of Ihueze-Nnewe Autonomous Community in Aninri Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The felicitation was contained in a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.

Mr Hundeyin said Nwobodo’s coronation, which held on December 27, 2025, was a recognition of his years of service, integrity and commitment to leadership in both public service and community development.

He said the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, expressed confidence that the monarch would apply his experience in leadership, conflict management and governance to promote peace, unity and development in his community.

According to the police, Nwobodo’s transition from national service to traditional leadership reflects his continued dedication to service.

Nwobodo joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1984 and served for more than three decades in various operational, administrative and leadership roles across the country.

He served as Divisional Police Officer in several police divisions nationwide and later as Director of Courses at the Nigeria Police Academy, Kano, where he was involved in training and mentoring officers.

He retired as a Deputy Inspector-General of Police after heading the Department of Information and Communication Technology at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.
