The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has reiterated his commitment to strengthening collaboration with other security agencies to enhance safety and security in the state.
Giwa gave the assurance on Wednesday while receiving the Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Grand Training Command of the Nigerian Air Force, Enugu, Air Vice Marshal Adebayo Kehinde, during a courtesy and familiarisation visit to the Command’s Headquarters in Enugu.
According to a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, the police commissioner emphasised the importance of sustained inter-agency cooperation in addressing security challenges.
Speaking during the visit, Kehinde stressed the need for robust collaboration between the Nigerian Air Force and the Police, noting that national security imperatives require effective synergy among security agencies.
Similarly, the commissioner received the Area Comptroller of the Enugu/Anambra/Ebonyi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, Comptroller Favour Adeyinka Bodunde.
Giwa assured the customs comptroller of closer cooperation and enhanced working relations in the collective effort to combat crime and criminality in the state.
Bodunde said her visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship between the Nigeria Customs Service and the Police, adding that effective security and public safety depend on sustained collaboration among security agencies.
The visits were attended by members of the Command’s management team.
