Power Outage Hits Ibadan Community After Accident Damages Electric Pole

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has announced a power disruption affecting several communities in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

 

The outage follows a vehicular accident that damaged a high-tension pole along the Akala Expressway.

 

In an official notice issued on Monday and signed by management, IBEDC stated that the incident occurred on the Oluyole 11kV feeder, resulting in an immediate outage for communities served by several affected transformers.

 

“Kindly be informed that due to a vehicular accident which damaged a HT pole on the Oluyole 11kV feeder along Akala Expressway, communities under the following transformers are experiencing a power outage: Adeoje 1, Adeoje 2, Adeoje 3, Adeoje 4, Red Gate, Bird Plus, Dominance, Omooke, Sofeco, White New and environs,” the notice issued via its X read.

 

The company assured customers that its technical team was working to ensure power supply is restored as quickly as possible.

 

IBEDC expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to customers and urged patience while repairs are underway.
