Police Begin Constable Screening in Enugu as CP Receives Screening Team

The Nigeria Police Force has commenced the credentials and physical screening of applicants from Enugu State in the ongoing nationwide recruitment of 50,000 police constables.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Public Relations Officer of the Enugu State Police Command, Daniel Ndukwe, said the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, received the screening team and charged members to carry out the exercise with integrity, fairness and transparency.

According to the statement, the police commissioner urged the team to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the exercise to ensure that only qualified applicants emerge from the process, in line with the standards of the Police Service Commission and the police authorities.

The statement noted that the police screening team is led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Promise Udeh, while the Police Service Commission delegation is headed by Assistant Director Obinna Malokwu.

Members of both teams, alongside other stakeholders, are responsible for conducting the credentials verification and physical assessment of applicants as part of the recruitment process.

The screening exercise commenced on March 9 at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess along Agbani Road in Enugu and is expected to run until April 18, 2026.
