Senator Ipalibo Banigo Leaves PDP, Defects to APC
Ipalibo Banigo has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Banigo announced her resignation during plenary at the Senate on Tuesday, March 10.
The lawmaker said she intends to align politically with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
She also said she wants to support efforts to advance development in Rivers State.
In the letter, which was read on the floor of the Senate by Akpabio, the lawmaker further stated that her decision to join the APC followed extensive consultations with her constituents and political associates.
