Anambra: Police confirm attack on Aguata LG Council Secretariat

Police Command in Anambra state says it has mobilised security operatives to forestall further destruction of lives and property in Aguata local government area of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga in a statement confirmed the attack on the LG headquarters by yet to be identified hoodlums.

The police image maker explained that the Command was already on top of the situation and gave the assurance that the hoodlums would not go unpunished.

Recalled that yet to be identified gunmen on Thursday at about three o’clock in the afternoon stormed the Council headquarters in Ekwulobia setting structures ablaze.

An eye witness told correspondent that
the hoodlums shot sporadically resulting in the deaths of two persons.

It was gathered that the gunmen after attacking Aguata Local government drove to a cattle market in Igboukwu where they allegedly killed about thirty cattles in a cattle market in the area.
