Bandits kidnapped more than 100 miners while we were focused on the school girls -Emir

The Emir of Anka in Zamfara state, Attahiru Ahmed says more than 100 miners operating between Anka and Mari Local government areas in the state were abducted by bandits on March 2.

 

This was disclosed to the chief of Defence staff Lucky Irabor who led service chiefs on an assessment visit to the state.

 

The Emir explained that the incident took place when the state was focused on the rescue of the 297 students abducted in February from Government Secondary school, Jangebe.

 

Ahmed also said the bandits killed ten persons during an invasion of a mining site in Zamfara.

 

The traditional ruler requested the deployment of more security operatives to the state while expressing surprise that a no-fly zone was imposed on his state that have no airport.
