Bizman accuses policemen of assault, extortion of $5,500 Bitcoin

A businessman, Babatunde Williams has accused some men of the Lagos State Police Command of extorting him of $5,000 worth of cryptocurrency (about 2m) around Lekki in the Eti-Osa Local Government area of the state.

According to Williams he was returning after inspecting a property around Lekki on friday when four policemen accosted him and demanded his vehicle papers. Before he could comply two of the men forced themselves inside his car. Adding that he was handcuffed and taken into a private vehicle where he was beaten and forced to give out the password of his bitcoin wallet.

He alleged that $5,500 was withdrawn from his wallet and transfered to a wallet of their accomplice. He said he has reported the case at the Maroko Police division.
