Breaking: Popular Enugu lawyer, CD Ogbe quits APGA gives reason

Former Chairman of the African Peoples Alliance (APA) in Enugu State, Mr. Chukwunonso Daniel Ogbe who defected to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) few weeks ago to prosecute his governorship ambition has withdrawn his membership of the party.

In a brief text to his supporters, Mr. Ogbe blames his withdrawal to finance.

The text reads: “Good evening good people of APGA. I joined APGA some weeks ago for the purpose of putting up a strong opposition front in Enugu State. I also declared to run for the Governorship position of Enugu State under the platform of APGA. However, and other men of modest means who joined APGA with me some weeks back can’t meet up with the financial requirement of running for political offices.a Accordingly, I am withdrawing my membership of APGA today, while I will make known my next steps in Enugu political terrain in the coming days. I appreciate that this is a hard decision to make, but men of modest means should not be prevented from actualizing their political dreams because of money. Thanks and God bless. Barr. C. D. Ogbe.

Recall that a Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, last year dismissed a suit challenging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s power to deregister the African Peoples Alliance (APA) as political party in the country.
