Ahead of the delivery of 3,924,000 doses of the AstraZeneca-Oxford COVID-19 vaccine, Nigerians can now register online for vaccination via the website of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA.

Known as the Electronic Management of Immunization Data, EMID, Registration Portal, the platform captures data and schedules persons for COVID19 vaccination.

Making the announcement on Monday in a tweet, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, said the registration can be done on its website http://nphcda.gov.ng

The delivery is the first shipment of 16 million doses of the vaccine being delivered by the COVAX Facility, a global initiative set up by the World Health Organisation and other partners to procure and ensure equitable distribution of vaccines for free among countries across the world.

The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force, PTF, on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, had hinted the weekend that Nigeria would receive the first tranche of the COVID-19 vaccine on March 2, 2021.

Health workers are expected to be the first set of people to get the vaccine, followed by the elderly above 60 – 65 years and those with comorbidities (existing health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease). President Mohammadu Buhari, Vice president Yemi Osinbajo, among other members of the nation’s strategic leadership as well as persons at the points of entry and border post managers, will be prioritised.

PDP Asks DSS To Probe Pantami, Want Minister’s Sack

Published

on

The Peoples Democratic Party on Sunday called on the Department of State Service to immediately invite the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, for questioning over his alleged affiliations with the Taliban and Al-Qaeda.

The Party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, in Abuja, also demanded that the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), should immediately sack the minister, given the sensitivity of the issue at stake.

The party said its position was predicated on the heightening concerns in the public space and in the international arena of possible compromises by the communication minister.

It noted that Pantami had access to sensitive government documents and information, in addition to data of all individuals including high profile personalities in the public and private sectors as well as the traditional and faith-based circles.

The statement partly read:-

“The PDP is particularly worried about allegations in the public suggesting that the minister compromised the NIN registration exercise by giving room for the registration of aliens and invaders from other countries as our citizens.

“The party tasks the DSS to investigate the allegation which has created apprehension, particularly given the rise in banditry and other terrorist activities in our country.
“The PDP urges Nigerians to remain at alert and very sensitive to their environment, while not hesitating in providing useful information to our security agencies in the interest of our nation”

I’m Not Guinea pig, I Wont Take Covid-19 Vaccines – Bishop Oyedepo

Published

on

Popular Nigerian pastor Bishop Oyedepo of the living faith church aka winners chapel has stated that he won’t take covid-19 Vaccines,Aprokorepublic gathered

Oyedepo, who spoke during the church’s Covenant Hour of Prayer programme, said he is not a guinea pig, hence would not take the vaccine.

Stressing that the world was confused over COVID-19, the clergyman insisted that the church has the answer.

According to Oyedepo: “I have never seen a generation where you force people to take vaccines. It is inhuman; it is immoral sir. I’m not a lawyer but I don’t think it is legal. You can’t come to my house and want to give me injections.

“On what? Did I invite you? They are confused. But the church has the answer. Did you see any outbreak of virus here? How will it enter the gate? Will it come through the air? How?

“One woman just got down after that injection in Kaduna. What kind of life? Are human beings now turned to guinea pigs? The world is confused but the church is triumphing.

“So, the triumph of the church will humble the pride of the world. They don’t know what to do, sir. In the last days, the church will be reigning in power and glory. That is God’s agenda

No apologies. There is a big, big bird in our land, saying, ‘don’t take it, they are deceivers’. Let me see someone who will come and inject me.

“Are you going to tie my hands? How? Did I invite you? I know you are quiet, you will hear more of it. My job is to expose the devil and tell his agents, ‘get off, we are not guinea pigs.”
