The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says it has deployed eight hundred (800) operatives on special Eidel Fitr patrol and surveillance, assuring the people of a peaceful festive season.

The State Commandant, Afrika Ezenyimulu stated this on Friday in a statement signed by the spokesman of the command, Denny Manuel Iwuchukwu.

Ezenyimulu who disclosed that the Corps, comprising uniformed and plain cloth personnel, would be deployed across the 17 local government areas of the state, warned criminal elements to steer clear of Enugu noting that it would be hot for them to operate during the celebration.

”The Corps is aware that criminal elements usually hide under the cover of public holidays and festivities to perpetuate their unwholesome trade, but their expectations will fail them this time around as the corps has identified all flash points and put measures in place to frustrate every unacceptable conduct and behaviour.

“The state is too hot for lawless elements, the corps and other security agencies have concluded plans to make sure things are very difficult for deviants and social misfit during the period,” Ezenyimulu warned.

The Commandant expressed regret about the upsurge in vandalism activities in the state, pointing out that the hoodlums had made rail line materials their target in the recent time.

He, however, promised that NSCDC, in collaboration with other security agencies, would bring their devilish acts to an end.

Ezenyimulu advised the citizenry to be security conscious at all times, noting that criminals often succeeded with their plans because people were always very relaxed, not suspecting any attack.

He insisted that with a security informed and alert society, the criminals would find it difficult to execute their plans.

The NSCDC Commandant congratulated the Muslim Community in Enugu State for a successful fasting that preceded the celebration, calling on them to use the occasion to pray for peace in the country.
