Enugu CP Giwa Decorates 352 Newly Promoted Officers

The Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has decorated 352 officers recently promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II).

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe.

According to the statement, the promotions were approved by the Police Service Commission on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, following a Departmental Selection Board screening exercise conducted at the Nigeria Police Force, Ukpo, Anambra State.

Speaking during the decoration ceremony held at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess, Giwa congratulated the officers and urged them to justify their elevation through discipline, dedication and professionalism.

He warned that acts of misconduct or negligence would not be tolerated, stressing that the officers must complete a two-year probationary period with unblemished records before confirmation of their promotions.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, ASP Abuchi Ugwuagu expressed gratitude to the police leadership and the commission for the advancement, pledging commitment to duty and professionalism.

Among those promoted are Augustine Michael, the commissioner’s official driver; Chukwu Sunday of the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID); and Sylvester Anamali, Pius Umushike and Akuabata Nnamchi of the Police Public Relations Department.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Command’s management team, divisional police officers, senior officers, as well as spouses, relatives and friends of the officers.
