Enugu govt. approves training of traffic officers to promote service delivery

The Enugu State Government says it has approved the training of 20 traffic officers under the state’s Ministry of Transport at the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Academy, Udi.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mr Ogbonna Idike, disclosed this to News men on Friday in Enugu.

Idike said that the training would help to promote professionalism and quality road management service delivery to the good people of the state.

He said that the training, which would last for two weeks, would be in the form of intensive classroom and field exercise.

The permanent secretary said that at the end of the training, they would be certified and “they will get ready to be given more tasks commensurate with their new level of learning and exposure”.

“We thank God that His Excellency, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has recently approved the training of 20 traffic officers in the Enugu State Traffic Management Agency (ESTMA) under the ministry at the FRSC Academy, Udi.

“Approving such training at the highest road traffic control and management academy in Africa (FRSC Academy, Udi), shows the premium and interest the governor is placing on sound and qualitative training for traffic officers under the ministry in the state.

“It also shows the concern of the governor to issues of the safety and well-being of the residents as well as ensuring road discipline and orderliness by motorists in the state,” he said.

Idike noted that the training would commence as soon as logistics for it were finalised.
