Enugu Guber: APC vows to take over govt house



It was a carnival of a sort as members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State thronged Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, to receive the Deputy National Chairman (South), of the party, Chief Emma Eneukwu, from Abuja after being elected as the party official in the APC convention last week.

Also received was the Zonal Women Leader, Mrs. Mimi Uchenna Diyokeh.

Addressing the monmouth crowd before proceeding to Obinagu Udi on Saturday, Chief Emma Eneukwu, said the party was equipped to take over power in the South East beginning with Enugu State.

According to the Enugu State born political tactician, APC will win governorship elections in the entire South-East states, stressing that Enugu was of more important to the party because of its position as the political capital of the region.

He called on members of the party in the state to be united and work as a team to take over power and usher in new and better leadership that would make the welfare of the citizens its top priority.

“Time is now for us to take over Southeast completely. We will do that by starting from Enugu State Government House.

“We have come to take over Enugu State; to give Enugu a new leadership. We are here to give Southeast and entire Southern Nigeria a new leadership. But charity begins at home. We will start it with Enugu State,” he said.

He maintained that the party would not encourage divisions in the state.

“Whatever faction you belong to, we are the same family,” Enukwu said.

He noted that by the emergence of the new leadership, everything about factions had been laid to rest for the good of the party.

“We shall move as a united body so that we shall be able to remove those people that are holding the state down.

“I promise you that by the next election, it shall not be the same again. I’m happy that Enugu has a vibrant state chairman of the APC as well as state executive committee members who are up and doing.

“We have come to work. We have not come to superintendent over you, but to work and deliver our people from their bondage.

“It’s going to be a united struggle. It’s not a one-man struggle but our struggle. The victory will be for all of us. When we win, everybody will participate in baking the cake,” he promised.

Chief Eneukwu, said APC had come to dethrone what he described as tyranny and bad governance, emphasizing that with the new leadership in place, the state was going to experience total transformation.

For his part, the National Vice Chairman South East, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, said the party was ready for politics and victory and marching to victory, noting that Enugu was for APC to take, including other States in the South-east.

Dr. Arodiogbu said the party was going to work together for victory of the party.

Also speaking, the Southeast Zonal Women Leader, Mrs. Mimi Uchenna Diyokeh, said she would work in synergy with women in the party as well as mobilise them to work towards the victory of APC in Enugu State in 2023.

Among APC Stakeholders that were received in Enugu at the airport were the State Chairman of the party, Chief Ugochukwu Agballah, who led other State Chairmen of the party as well as thousands of other party faithful in the zone to welcome Eneukwu at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

Other leaders who were welcomed alongside Eneukwu included the National Vice Chairman, South-East APC, Chief Ijeomah Arodiogbu, and the Zonal Youth Leader, Nkenna Anyalewechi.
