His Royal Majesty, Eze Engr. Obidegwu Obuora Onyesoh MFR JP, [Eze-Nri Enwelana II] represented on the throne by His Royal Highness, Regent Prince Ikenna Onyesoh [Idebutaku Na Nri] the Traditional REGENT of ancient Nri Kingdom has today joined the rest of the Catholic community across the globe to celebrate this year’s mothers Sunday.

Epitomizing the role of mothers in family growth, and child upbringing, noted very well that mothers are the first contact to every child; and as such should be the much needed agents of positive change in our society..

His Majesty the Regent decried the regretable high level of social and societal indiscipline amongst teenage boys and girls as a result of poor; careless early child parenting.

He describe women as true agents of positive change with high moral standard and value; called on all mothers to sit up on their responsibility of early child parenting as the child’s first point of contact.

Recognizing the enormous leadership potentials of African women, equally called on government of His Excellency, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo the executive governor of Anambra state, and Government at all levels to consider women inclusion in the administration of the country..

The Regent Equally used the opportunity to celebrate and appreciate the immessurable contributions of

•Amulunu’no Nri,
•Ndi ADA NRI GLOBAL INITIATIVE,
•Ndi Inyom Nri, and
•Ndi Otu Iyom Society Of Nri both home and in diaspora whom he said their impact is felt across the length and width of ancient Nri Kingdom.

Worthy to mention is the person of our amiable wife Distinguished Senator Dr. Uche Lilian Ekwunife (Iyom Anyanwu Nri) whom he described as not just a wife, but indeed a mother to all; whose positive representation has repositioned Nri Kingdom into an urban settlement..
