‘General Hospital Had No Oxygen’ — Influencer Deka George Mourns Pregnant Sister

Deka George, the Nigerian content creator, has mourned the
death of her sister Evans Akinloye Chiamaka, blaming a lack of hospital oxygen
and her own absence for the tragedy.

In a post via Instagram, the content creator shared photos
of her late sister while revealing that Chiamaka, aged 36, died due to
complications from childbirth.

The influencer said her grief was compounded by guilt and
anger, adding that she was unable to be by her sister’s side when she needed
her most.

George explained that she missed her sister’s final phone
call because she was occupied with two separate court appearances in Lagos.

She lamented that she was unable to rush to Abuja to be with
her sibling, wishing she could reverse time.

George alleged that the general hospital where Chiamaka was
taken did not have access to oxygen, a critical resource needed to save her
life.

“Life is so fickle. My sister would have been alive today if
I didn’t have two court cases in Lagos. You called but I was being dragged from
Magistrate Court to Federal High Court. You called but I missed your call
because I was busy fighting for my life and freedom in Lagos,” she wrote.

““I am sorry Sister Amaka. I wish I could go back in time. I
would be with you in Abuja and we could have saved you. A whole General
Hospital didn’t have oxygen. Nigeria failed you. I failed you.”

The development comes amid an ongoing legal dispute between
the content creator and a hair vendor Rainbow Hairs.

The legal battle, which began last year, stems from an
incident where George alleged that she received substandard hair products after
paying over N200,000, leading the company to file a defamation lawsuit against
her.
