Imo Governor charges traditional rulers to maintain peace in their communities

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has inaugurated members of State and local government executive council of traditional rulers in the state.

Governor Uzodinma at the New Executive Council Chambers, Government House Owerri, charged them to be responsive, and work as a representative of government to ensure peace and tranquility in their area.

He called on them to supervise, coordinate and manage affairs of the local government noting that government cannot function alone without their partnership.

The Governor promised to empower them with necessary tools they need to disharge their duty, urging them to shun jealousy.

In a vote of thanks, the Chairman, Imo State council of traditional rulers, Eze Emmanuel Okeke assured the governor of their cooperation, and desire to serve.

Eze Okeke who spoke on behalf of the inaugurated members said they will build bridges of understanding and prayed to God to give them wisdom to serve.

He commended the Governor for massive road construction across the local government.
