Lagos APC Fixes March 3 for State Congress at Mobolaji Johnson Stadium

The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially fixed March 3, 2026, for its state congress.

According to a notice issued by the Chairman of the Lagos State Congress Committee and in line with Article 12.8 of the party’s constitution, the event will take place at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium (formerly Onikan Stadium) on Lagos Island, starting at 10:00 a.m.

The congress aims to elect or ratify the state executive committee members.

Eligible participants include:

Members of the state advisory council

State chairman and members of the executive committee

The state governor and deputy governor

Serving and past members of the National Assembly from Lagos

State representatives on the national executive committee

Serving and past members of the state House of Assembly

Elected local government chairmen and their deputies

Councillors

Party chairmen and secretaries from all local government areas

Five delegates per ward (elected at the ward congress)

Members of the zonal executive committee from the state

All attendees are required to present valid party membership cards and official accreditation tags for entry.

The announcement follows the party’s earlier timetable for congresses, with ward congresses held on February 18 and local government congresses on February 21.

The state congress forms part of preparations ahead of zonal congresses and the national convention.

No major controversies have been reported for the Lagos exercise so far, unlike in Ondo State where a court recently issued a restraining order against its congress on the same date.

The congress is expected to proceed peacefully, reinforcing the APC’s organizational structure in its stronghold of Lagos ahead of future electoral activities.
