Man Cries Out After Alleged Brutal Assault by Ocha Brigade Officials, Accuses Anambra Govt of Shielding Suspects (VIDEO)

In Anambra, a legal practitioner, Barr. Charles Ifeanyi Nwankwo, has cried out over what he described as a brutal assault and battery allegedly carried out by officials of the Anambra State Ocha Brigade and Udogachi security outfit, while also accusing authorities of shielding those involved from facing justice.

According to Barr. Nwankwo, the incident occurred on January 19, 2026, at Eke Awka Market Square, where he was allegedly attacked by the government task force officials during an encounter.

Speaking with our correspondent, the lawyer revealed that he has already taken legal action by filing a suit at the Federal High Court, Awka, with Suit No: FHC/AWK/CS/52/2026, seeking justice over the alleged assault.

However, he expressed concern that the management of the Ocha Brigade has allegedly refused to release the officials involved for prosecution, thereby stalling the legal process despite the existence of video evidence documenting the incident.

Barr. Nwankwo further alleged that his life has been threatened by individuals linked to the officials, who warned him to withdraw the case from court or risk another encounter with them.

Due to the alleged threats to his life, the lawyer disclosed that he has not been able to sleep in his house since the incident, fearing for his safety.

He is therefore calling on the Anambra State Government and relevant authorities to urgently intervene, ensure that the officials involved are produced before the court, and allow the law to take its full course.

Barr. Nwankwo said making the matter public has become necessary both for his personal safety and to ensure accountability, adding that he is ready to provide documents, court filings, and video evidence to support his claims.
