Senator Ekwunife commissions URUOFOLO Legacy Hall

History was once again made as Ndi Uruofolo yesterday commissioned their legacy Hall. The hall which happened to be the best around was commissioned by Senator Lady Uche Lilian Ekwunife (Anyanwu Nri, Adaugo Igbo).

The event which commenced with an interdenominational service had people from all works of life in attendance and featured various cultural displays including cultural dance by women from various kindred within the village, the atilogwu dance, masquerade display, amongst others.

In his welcome address, the Chairman of Uruofolo Development Union, Chief Arthur Mbuba (Otooramkpa, Osuofia Mgbago na Mgbada) commended the unrelenting effort of ndi Uruofolo both home and in diaspora especially, Chief Dr. & Mrs. Ambrose Obi-okoye for playing a significant role including donating over half of the total cost of the project.

He equally appreciated Ndi Uruofolo for believing in him and for their support in seeing to the realization of his promise to build a hall for Uruofolo.

Commissioning the hall later in the day, the distinguished Senator Mrs Uche Lilian Ekwunife appreciated Ndi Nri for their supports so far and assured of her continued effort to better the lives of her constituents.

She equally promised to include the construction of Ogininese – Eke-agu road in the next year’s budget which will commence in September this year. She also appreciated Chief (Comr) Arthur Mbuba for achieving such feat in such a short time and emphasized that Nri has over the years been blessed with good leadership starting from Chief Engr (Dr) Charles Tabansi to Chief Kelvin Obiegbunam and urged Ndi Nri not to relent in their quest to lift the town above her equals.

Commissioning of the Hall and other entertaining displays including donations in support of Ndi Uruofolo formed the highpoint of the event.
