Senator representing Anambra Central District, Hon Mrs Uche Ekwunife Receives Newly Elected Executives Of Nri Youth Assembly (Photos)

Hon Mrs Uche Ekwunife, the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, on Monday, March 1, 2021 received in audience, the newly elected executives of Nri Youth Assembly led by its President, Comrade Christian Madichie.

Speaking during the visit, Comrade Madichie lauded Senator Ekwunife for her developmental efforts in Nri Kingdom. He stated that the visit which was their first official visit since they were elected was motivated by the Senator’s unrelenting resolve towards addressing the yearnings of her constituents, particularly the youths.

Madichie described the Senator, who is married to Nri Kingdom as ‘an amiable wife’, who according to him, has made the community proud through her positive antecedents.

Reacting to the visit, Senator Ekwunife urged the youth executive to use its position to promote peace and unity in the community. She noted that young people are a special bloc in the society and reiterated her commitment to youth development.

Speaking further, the federal lawmaker promised to always use her position to address the numerous challenges facing the youths. She highlighted her efforts in tackling youth unemployment through her numerous skills acquisition and empowerment programmes as well as facilitation of employment for young graduates.

Ekwunife further advised the youth leadership to see Nri community as theirs to protect and defend. She assured them of her resolve to effectively support the youths of the Senatorial District and beyond.

Sanwo-Olu honours cop assaulted by traffic violator

Lagos state Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday honored a policemen Asp Sunday Erhabor attached to the Rapid response squad of the state police command.

The cop was assaulted by one victor Ebhomenyen who drove against traffic in Oniru in the Victoria Island area of the State.

 

Sunday was presented with a stats plague as a mark of honor and prestige to appreciate his commitment to promoting core values of modern policing and protection of fundamental human rights.

See what144 Nigerian policemen were sent to Somalia to do

A total of 144 police officers from Nigeria have arrived in Somalia to boost Stabilization efforts in the country according to the African union mission.

AMISON police operations coordinator  Daniel Ali Gwambal said they are there to to support the Somalis and at the same time to mentor the Somali police force.

They are to perform specific duties like regular patrols at check point, guard static duties and other duties that involve general policing he added
